I recently bought a book of poetry by the Sufi poet, Rumi. It inspired me to share this quote as an illustrated thought of the week. I paired the quote with a teddy bear cholla star. Have a good week.
This will be my last weekly post in this sereis. I need to concentrate on other things. I will offer an occasional piece in this vein, and I will animate some of them. ******* Have a blessed Easter, evryone.
I subscribe to the Quote of the Day, and this was posted a few months ago. One thing I like about it is that it makes me look up the people I don't know. Melody Beattie has written a lot about codependency, and coined the term. ******* I created this calendula star for my next animation project.
This is a line from Amanda Mcbroom's beautiful song The Rose. I am always in awe of the lyrics to this song. This is my first attempt at creating a rainbow flower star.
This is a short interview with Rick Hanson, who wrote the Buddha's Brain. The central them is that our brains exhibit neural plasticity. New science is showing that our brains are not unalterably hard wired. We can change the wiring in our brain. Dr Hanson has some very good videos on You Tube.
This week, I have combined two kinds of flowers to create the star. This is a combination of yellow prickly pear and cholla cacti. Forgiveness and patience are two of life's toughest, but most rewarding challenges. ******* Have a good week!
Dr Mercola posted this today on his health site. Darwin gave us a slanted picture of evolution. By design, this world is a lot more about cooperation than competition. It is our belief that life has to be a struggle that makes it so.
Back in March of 2010, I posted a Ring of Joy made with a rainbow mandala. I call this a Ring of Peace and it is made with yellow prickly pear cactus flowers. Occasionally, I will be adding to these to make a ring series.
This is a star element that went into my new saguaro cactus array. It is made with photos of the saguaro flowers. I like this quote of the Buddha. Have a good week.
I've been listening Folk Alley out of Kent State, and they played a song by Pierce Pettis called: God Believes in You. What an encouraging thought. His lyrics are great as well.
